Why APV Exists
§ 01

Built by a builder,
not an advisor.

AI is reshaping how life sciences companies operate, but most of the firms selling AI into pharma have never delivered software under pharma's compliance bar. The result is a market full of strategy decks, vendor shortlists, and pilots that quietly die in procurement.

APV exists because there's a different way to do this: as a builder, not an advisor. Founded in 2025, the firm was built to bring experienced, hands-on AI delivery to small-to-mid biotech and specialty pharma — companies that need pharma-grade implementation but don't have the budget or appetite for a Big-4 engagement.

How APV Operates
§ 02

A boutique studio,
by design.

APV is led directly by Nic Valle. Engagements are scoped, designed, and delivered by Nic personally, with specialized contractors engaged for build scale when projects require it — vetted and managed directly, not subcontracted through a bench.

i.

This is not a stage on the way to becoming a large firm. It is the model.

Buyers in life sciences are increasingly skeptical of large consultancies that promise senior expertise and deliver junior labor. APV is structured to give the opposite outcome: every conversation, every design decision, every line of delivered work runs through a single experienced founder.

ii.

When the work calls for more capacity, APV brings in specialists.

Engineers, regulatory consultants, designers — engaged on a project basis, vetted and managed by Nic directly. The firm stays small on purpose.

No partners pitching
Founder runs the room.
No juniors building
Experienced hands on every engagement.
No hand-offs
The person who scopes the work delivers it.

§ 03

About Nic Valle.

Nic is a clinical software executive and clinical AI practitioner who has spent the last decade building validated platforms for life sciences.

He most recently served as Managing Director of the Clinical Division at Red Nucleus, where he owned a $5M+ P&L and led 25+ cross-functional professionals delivering clinical assessment platforms to rare disease biotechs and Top 10 Global Pharma sponsors.

His work spans the full lifecycle of pharma-grade clinical software: from founding-stage platform development at iTakeControl (acquired by Red Nucleus), through validation of video capture modules used as primary endpoints in Phase 3 pivotal trials, to active work in clinical AI — including computer-vision models for video assessment scoring, facial recognition deployed for trial video de-identification across Phase 1–4 studies, and multimodal LLM approaches for automated quality review.

Nic has overseen 30+ global clinical studies and the capture of 30,000+ patient videos for clinical analysis across North America, EMEA, LATAM, and Australia. He has presented at the World Orphan Drug Congress and co-authored a manuscript on operationalizing clinical video capture for digital endpoints — developed in collaboration with the Critical Path Institute (C-Path) and currently under journal submission.

He holds a B.S. in Biological Anthropology from Binghamton University and a MicroMasters in Digital Product Management from Boston University / EdX. He is trilingual in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.

APV is the natural extension of that work: a firm built to bring the same hands-on, builder-grade rigor to companies that need it but can't access it through traditional consulting channels.

What We Believe
§ 04

Growth with intention.

APV operates on five principles that shape how we choose engagements, how we deliver work, and how we grow as a firm.

  1. 01

    Seek purposeful balance

Lasting outcomes are built on equilibrium — between ambitious goals and sustainable practices, between technological capability and human judgment, between speed and rigor.

  2. 02

    Grow with intention

Like the antlers of a caribou, growth is deliberate, structural, and serves a larger purpose. We are selective about the work we take on and the firms we take it on for.

  3. 03

    Act as a collective

We operate as a partner to the teams we work with, not a vendor to them. The success of our clients is the only measure of our own.

  4. 04

    Lead with responsibility

We are stewards of the trust and capital placed in our care. Compliance, ethics, and patient impact are upstream of every design decision — not bolted on at the end.

  5. 05

    Stay resiliently curious

The most durable solutions live at the intersection of disciplines. We endure the long path from complex problem to elegant system, and we stay curious through it.

Closing
§ 05

Let's build
what comes next.

APV is selective about engagements. We work best with Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, and Commercial leaders at biotechs and specialty pharma who are ready to invest in a working system rather than another assessment.
